Dr. Thomas Brand graduated from Mt. Sinai School of Medicine in New York City in 1995 and completed his residency in Emergency Medicine at Brown University’s Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, Rhode Island.
Dr. Brand is currently an assistant clinical professor at Tufts University School of Medicine and continues to practice emergency medicine at several hospitals on the North Shore.
Dr. Brand was personally trained by Dr. DiStefano in hair restoration and is now one of only a handful of hair transplant surgeons in the country offering the No Shave FUE. Dr. Brand joined Northeast Hair Restoration Surgical in 2021.
Dr. Brand is board-certified in Emergency Medicine.
Most hair transplant patients see results about 6 – 9 months after the surgery, while in a few cases it may take 15-18 months. Patients will experience regrowth of anywhere between 80% to 90% of the transplanted hair.
There may be slight pain the evening of which can be relieved with Tylenol or aspirin, but the next day there is usually no pain.

Yes, you can use our special shampoos, which one bottle will be given to you after surgery. Also, there is Propecia (men-only medication), laser caps, PRP, and exosomes all of which will be discussed with you either in your consultation or after your surgery.
There are no studies published which compare the different treatments available today. Minoxidil, laser therapy, PRP, and Tricomin products all work differently to help hair to grow. That is why we recommend utilizing all the treatments available. As with many medical problems, it may take several types of treatment to get the best result.
