Laura was a new patient to our Medi Tresse office in 2022 and was concerned about gradual hair loss she had been experiencing at her frontal hair line and her crown (top of head).
Prior to coming to Medi Tresse, Laura had tried minoxidil for a couple of months, but had not done any other treatments for her hair loss. During Laura’s consultation she was diagnosed with androgenic alopecia, which is also known as Female Pattern Hair Loss (FPHL). Female pattern hair loss (FPHL) is the leading cause of hair thinning and miniaturization in women. This occurs when the growth phase of the hair follicle shortens, resulting in the production of thinner hair strands that are prone to falling out. Left untreated, these affected hairs will progressively shrink until they vanish completely.
Laura came to Medi Tresse to find a treatment to reverse her hair loss and hoped to regrow some of what she had lost in the front and crown of her scalp.
With all of our treatments, we have three main goals: stop further loss, make the hair you have thicker, healthier, and if possible regrow hair. We like to remind all of our patients that attaining any of these goals is a success.
After discussing her options with her Medi Tresse practitioner, Laura decided to move forward with Painless PRP to treat her female pattern hair loss. Painless PRP is an innovative approach to Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy that requires no needles to inject and is completely painless. Utilizing a specialized medical device that converts the PRP into a powerful mist jet, the PRP is infused into the scalp subdermally.
