Cindy is a patient at our Boston, MA Medi Tresse office and initially came in concerned about her hair loss throughout her scalp. Prior to being evaluated at Medi Tresse, Cindy had not tried any treatments for her hair loss.
Following Cindy’s initial consultation, our team diagnosed her with androgenic alopecia, commonly known as Female Pattern Hair Loss (FPHL). Cindy’s objective was twofold: to halt ongoing hair loss and, ideally, to restore some of her lost hair.
With all of our treatments, we have three main goals: stop further loss, make the hair you have thicker, healthier, and if possible regrow hair. We like to remind all of our patients that attaining any of these goals is a success.
Cindy and the Medi Tresse team decided that the best treatment option for her would be Low-Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) LaserCap®. Since Cindy was concerned about hair loss throughout her scalp, the laser cap device that was recommended would provide complete coverage. It would also treat all of the areas that she was concerned about in the comfort of her own home.
Low-Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) is an extremely safe and easy treatment option for female pattern hair loss. Our laser cap utilizes an innovative cool beam laser that stimulates healing and restoration in the scalp's tissue. Moreover, LLLT has been scientifically proven to extend the hair follicle's growth phase, resulting in thicker and longer hair strands. These forms of light do not possess the ability to burn the skin. This ensures the safety of patients even with prolonged use.

While patients will typically notice less shedding when using the laser cap, significant results typically take 6 to 12 months. Cindy is very happy with her current results as she felt she has seen significant improvement in her hair. Cindy will continue utilizing the treatment plan with Medi Tresse.
